Bring Your Daughter by Iron Maiden guitar tab (text):

Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter - Iron Maiden
From the 1990 'No Prayer for the Dying' Album

Tabbed by Mitch Pike (pikey.on.drums@hotmail.co.uk)

OK this is my second contribution, check out my first tab Run to the Hills by Iron
if you want to. This song is tricky, it features Dave Murray and Janick Gers on the original
and it features open chord sequences, a bluesy chorus and a 'longer than average iron
solo' which will surely cause the biggest challenge. The small 3 note arrpegios in
verses should cause no problems at all, the only minor challenge you may be faced with
letting them ring for long enough and then changing quickly to the next shape. Be sure to
the song playing whilst you work this out becuase 1. You don't stand a chance if you try
alone and 2. Everything in this song is played exactly as it is in the
i spent a good week on it so everything in here is played just about right.

OK then here we go!

Intro:
                                                       Pickscrape for 3 bars

All the chords in the first bar fall on the snare drum, as do the first 2 in the second,
last two (G5 and E5) come on the bass drum that sounds twice in quick succession. Scoop
E5 chord slightly with the whammy bar on the E5 (last chord of the sequence) for the
sound. Let it ring for a bar, then pickscrape down the fretboard for 3 bars, the let
ring for 4 and then go into the verse.

Verse:

This chord structure is linked together by connecting notes across the sequence. They're
based around a blues/country style idea and they're a great way to make simple power
sound much more interesting. When the chorus finishes, hit the final power chord (the D5
5 on A, 7 on D and 7 on G) and let it ring for 4 bars (scoop with whammy bar whilst
ring) and then play the verse and chorus again, and then go into the bridge which goes
this:

Bridge:

This solo is so wickedly tough, but you can't expect anything else really from Maiden.
hardest part are without doubt the sextuplets in bars 7 and 8, they're very hard, and i
play them at full speed myself, but i did slow them down when working them out and they
OK. Otherwise you can expect the fluid hammer-ons and pulloffs from Dave Murray,
usage of the whammy bar and high speed bends. Around the 4th and 5th bars you'll see
stops on the 12th fret. These are simple but effective, and timing is vital, listen to
Berry if you like 'em.
