Answers by Goldfinger bass tab (text):"Answers" by Goldfinger off their self-titled album The Main riff is used for the intro, the verse, and all but the last chorus. The pre-chorus is quite simple, then it goes to chorus (i.e. Main riff again). After the first chorus there is a tiny bass solo, then the bass doesn't get cool again until the horn solo and then the pre-chorus and bridge chorus. All in all quite a simple song, played with a pick and a syncopated rhythm. Simon Williams plays his bass with a deeper, fuller sound, if you'd like to emulate with tone controls. Main riff: G: ---------------------------------------------- D: ---------------------------------------------- A: --5-5-----5--------------5-5-----5-------- E: --------------5-5-----5--------------3-3-- G: ---------------------------------------------- D: ---------------------------------------------- A: ------5-5-----5-------------5-5-----5------ E: ---3-------------5-5-----5-------------6-6-- Pre-chorus: G: ---------------------------------------------- D: --------------------------------5----7------- A: ---3---5-------------3----5----------------- E: ------------3----5--------------------------- Miniature bass solo after 1st chorus: G: ---------------------------------------------- D: ---------------------------------------------- A: --0--8--10-10-10-10-10--8--7----------- E: -------------------------------------9-------- Horn solo: G: ---------------------------------------------- D: ---------------------------------------------- A: --5-5---5--7--8-----5-5----5--7--8------- E: ---------------------------------------------- G: ---------------------------------------------- D: ---------------------------------------------- A: -----------------------------------4---------- E: --3--3---3--5--6---5-5--5--7-------------- Repeats twice, then decorates thus: G: --------------------0-----------------------0---- D: -0-0-0-0---2--3------3--0-0-0-0--2-3-----3- A: -------------------------------------------------- E: -------------------------------------------------- G: ---------------------------------------------- D: ----------------------------------------(0)-- A: ------------0-1-3-1---0-0-0-0---2-4-5--4- E: --3-3-3-3----------------------------------- Plays the decorated version twice also, then goes to pre-chorus. You may find it easier to play 0 on the D string instead of 5 on the A string in the last decoration. Ending chorus: G: ---------------2------------------------------ D: --2--4------------5--4--2--4--------------- A: ---------2------------------------------------ E: ---------------------------------------------- G: ---------------2------------5--4------------- D: --2--4-------------5--4--------------------- A: ---------2------------------------------------ E: ---------------------------------------------- Plays the entire riff twice, then slides down to end on: G: ---------------------------------------------- D: --2-~~~~---------------------------------- A: ---------------------------------------------- E: ---------------------------------------------- (Played with vibrato) If you wonder what letter tunings I was using when I tabbed this (i.e. L, G, A, B) or understand that I'm the coolest bassist you'll ever know, you can contact me at: i_dUNNO16@Hotmail.com Tabbed by Lord Whitey the Terrible Send " Goldfinger" Ringtones to your Cell Sign Up For My Newsletter Subscribe | Unsubscribe Site Map | Disclaimer | Privacy Policy | Media Kit | Submissions/Corrections Website © 2000-2012 mattsmusicpage.com.
