    Hints:
The notes as tabbed below are merely a guide as to bass/treble
strings for strumming, they aren't set in stone! Finger the whole chord
each time anyway. The open top E on the off-beat is easiest played on
the upstroke.

Bird on the horizon sitting on a fence
(etc)

Bird on the horizon
Sittin' on a fence
He's singing his song for me
At his own expense
And I'm just like that bird
Oh-oh
Singin' just for you
Oh-oh
I hope that you can hear
Hear me singin' through these tears

Love is so simple
To quote a phrase
You've known it all the time
I'm learnin' it these days
Oh, I know where I can find you
Oh-oh
In somebody's room
Oh-oh
It's a price I have to pay
You're a big girl all the way

Time is a jet plane
It moves too fast
Oh but what a shame
That all we've shared can't last
I can change I swear
Oh-oh
See what you can do
Mm-mm
I can make it through
You can make it too

A change in the weather
Can be extreme
But it ain't like changing
Horses in midstream
I'm going out of my mind
Oh-oh
With a pain that stops and starts
Mm-mm
Like a corkscrew to my heart
Ever since we've been apart

NOTE: I got most of this from the bootleg version posted before, but I
made some changes according to what I heard on the album version (Blood
on the Tracks, 1975). Also, the G#m/E is a bit tricky to play, but I play
it by using the thumb on the low E.
