Letters To God by 40 Below Summer guitar tab (text):

Band: 40 Below Summer

Song: Letters To God

Album: Rain EP & Live Performance

Tabbed by: José Antilibido

Tab is from live performance. The tab is the same for the version off of the Rain EP, except the bass never goes to the 8th note, and the guitarists slies to the 10th fret octave instead of repeating the line.

Tuning - C#G#C#F#A#D# (Drop your low E string to D, and then tune down half a step)

I know this part is played by the bass, but it is fun to play. I dunno if Hector slides to the 12th and 13th fret or goes to the G string, but it will sound better if you play it on the G string instead of sliding on the guitar. My advice for this part is to get a delay of some kind if you dont have a bass played and record this part, then turn it off when you goto the chorus. Also, try switching to a clean channel on your amp with lots of bass on to get a better feel.

You repeat this line 7 times and then do the next part...

F#----------------------------

C#----------------------------

G#----------5h6--6---6-6-6----

C#----5-5-x-------------------

F#-----------------------------------

C#-----------------------------------

G#---------5h6--8--6-5h6-5h6-3h5-----

C#----5-5-x--------------------------

(I think the last part is close. Hector plays it to fast...)

The guitar sounds a lot more difficult than it is at this part, mainly because you don't hear blue-sy sounding stuff in rock anymore, which sucks if ya ask me. You can re-arrange it to make it look a little more difficult (Moving to different strings and such) but this is the easiest way to do it.

The guitar enters with feedback by playing an open F near the cabs, then this part comes in when Max starts singing.

G#----5--3\10-------1-xx-1-x-xx-1--0

C#------------------1-xx-1-x-xx-1--0

Bridge

It sounds like when the drum is hit 4 times, this is played:

C#--x-x-x-x

G#--x-x-x-x

C#--x-x-x-x

After that, this starts:

Palm mute this and let up on the mute as you go

C#-----------------------------------

G#---3h4--3h4--3h4--3h4--5p4p3--5p4p3

C#-----------------------------------

Do this a couple times. The bass should join you around the 4th time.

NOTE: I made this part really easy. I don't know if it is played with 1 finger or with the 2 finger version on higher strings. Judging from it's deepness, im guessing this is almost right.

C#---10h11--10h11--10h11--10h11--12p11p10

G#---10h11--10h11--10h11--10h11--12p11p10

C#---10h11--10h11--10h11--10h11--12p11p10

After the "Pissed off" part, go back to the chorus

F#----7--8--7--------------------

C#----x--x--x-------1-xx-1-x-xx-1

G#----5--6--5-------1-xx-1-x-xx-1

C#------------------1-xx-1-x-xx-1

F#----7--5--8--------------------

C#----x--x--x-------1-xx-1-x-xx-1

G#----5--3--6-------1-xx-1-x-xx-1

C#------------------1-xx-1-x-xx-1

F#----7--8--7--------------------

C#----x--x--x-------1-xx-1-x-xx-1

G#----5--6--5-------1-xx-1-x-xx-1

C#------------------1-xx-1-x-xx-1

F#----7--5--8--------------------

C#----x--x--x-------1-xx-1-x-xx-1

G#----5--3--6-------1-xx-1-x-xx-1

C#------------------1-xx-1-x-xx-1

(this is played 8 times instead of the usual 4)

The studio version changes up the palm muting a bit. Listen to it to get ir right.

And then the bridge:

C#---10h11--10h11--10h11--10h11--12p11p10

G#---10h11--10h11--10h11--10h11--12p11p10

C#---10h11--10h11--10h11--10h11--12p11p10

(4 times I believe)

And your done!
