Redemption Song by Oar chord (text):O.A.R.- Of A Revolution - "Redemption Song" (Bob Marley cover) These are the lyrics most often used when O.A.R. covers "Redemption Song" - this particular version is from Carroll College - Waukesha, WI, 11/01/03. Chords used: G Em7 C G/B Am Em D Dsus e|------3------------------------3-----------------------2--------3--| B|----------------------1-----------------1--------------3--------3--| G|----------------------------------------2--------------2--------2--| D|----------------------2-----------------2-------2------------------| A|------2-------2-------3--------2----------------2------------------| E|------3------------------------------------------------x-----------| Notes: The Dsus after the D in the last line of the verses isn't required. I play it to give the song a slightly higher pitch right leading into the chorus. When you play it, make sure you hit the first string U/U/D/U and then change back to a D after that U/U/D/U strumming sequence. Give it a try, I think it sounds better that way. Also, on the 4th line of second and third verses, Marc mutes the C chord right after switching to it and finishes the line "a cappella." Then start up with G again normally on the next line. Same thing with the last line on the third verse - mute the G and then it's a cappella until the G in the beginning of the chorus. INTRO: e|----------------------------------------------------------| B|----------------------------------------------------------| G|----------------------------------------------------------| Play twice D|--------------------2---0-----------------0---------------| A|------0h2-------3-----------2-------0h2-------3p2---0-----| E|--3---------3-------------------3-----------------------3-| h = hammer on p = pull off VERSE 1: G Em7 Old pirates, yes, they rob I C G/B Am sold I to the merchant ships G Em C Minutes after they took I G/B Am from the bottomless pit.
