Postcard by Lemonheads guitar tab (text):From: "Alan Lorraine." (9737487@jura.sms.ed.ac.uk) "Postcard" The Lemonheads Written and performed by B. Deily on Creator, the group's second album. Released on Taang Records. 1988. Intro: Dadd4 D Dsus2 D played twice. Verse 1: G Am Once I thought I was more right than wrong, C G Painting myself in the corner. G Am What I bought and why it takes so long, C G Something inside of her warned her. Chorus: Cadd9 G I know that it doesn't matter much G Am But I hope we'll, keep in touch. Cadd9 G I know that we won't go on as such G Am But I hope we'll, keep in touch. D Dadd4 D Could it be that hard, Cadd9 To send you a postcard? Verse 2: Fragile smile, a ragged sleeve, Didn't laugh once to often. (pause) Before a while, it takes to grieve, Try to repair what I've done. Chorus Middle 8: Em Cmaj7 You laugh across the kitchen, D Dadd4 D At something in a magazine. Em Cmaj7 I frown across the table, D Dadd4 D So blunt, I'm never seen. Em Cmaj7 Your hair falls in your eyes as you ask Dadd4 D Dsus2 D "What do you mean?" Verse 3: See yourself never satisfied, In the clothes that you try now. I swore myself, I said I'd never cry. Close to saying goodbye now. Last Chorus: I know that it doesn't matter much But I'm hoping to keep in touch. I know that we won't go on as such But I'm hoping to keep in touch. Could it be that hard, To send me a postcard? Outro: Dadd4 D Dsus2 D played twice Plucking the fourth and sixth strings alternately whilst keeping the chord changes going ends the song. Comments: In the verses I'm not convinced that it's not Cadd9 instead of C. Try it too. In verse 2, "Before a while, it takes to grieve", I have no idea if the word is grieve. It could be weave, breathe etc. LISTEN TO THE CD FOR THE STRUMMING PATTERN. |
