16 by Green Day guitar tab (text):------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 16 – Green Day ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tabbed by: Thedboy Tuning: Down a quarter of a step | / slide up | \ slide down | h hammer-on | p pull-off | ~ vibrato | + harmonic | x Mute note Intro/Verse This is a brilliant riff, but is really tricky to pull off. No-one had tabbed it quite on this site, but I think this version is pretty correct. Play around with it. Throughout the intro and verse, there are two versions of the same riff, one version is muted the other isn’t and it sounds slightly different palm muted version e-----------------0----------------------------------------------------------------| B-------------------0--------------------------------------------------------------| G-44-444-22-222-1-----4~-----------------------------------------------------------| D-44-444-22-222-2-----4~-----------------------------------------------------------| A-22-222-00-000-2-----2~-----------------------------------------------------------| E---------------0------------------------------------------------------------------| ** ** ** ** non-pm version e--------------000----------------------------------------------------------| B—-------------000----------------------------------------------------------| G-4~-4~-22-222-111-4~-------------------------------------------------------| D-4~-4~-22-222-222-4~-------------------------------------------------------| A-2~-2~-00-000-222-2~-------------------------------------------------------| E--------------000----------------------------------------------------------| for the whole intro, you pm on the first time, but the next three times you play the non-pm version. The verse has the same riff played 8 times, you play with the pm on the 1st, 3rd, 5th 7th time and you play the non pm version on the 2nd, 4th, 6th and 8th time. Chorus-nice and simple!! e--------------------------------------------------------------------------| B--------------------------------------------------------------------------| G-5-5-5-5-7-7-7-7-4444444444444--------------------------------------------| D-5-5-5-5-7-7-7-7-4444444444444--------------------------------------------| A-3-3-3-3-5-5-5-5-2222222222222--------------------------------------------| E--------------------------------------------------------------------------| Interlude This is quite difficult to figure out. I think there are two guitars here, one plays the and the other plays this quietly, but I think this is correct. e|---------------------------------------------------------------------------| B|-----7--------7--------7--------7------------------------------------------| G|-4/8---8--4/8---8--4/8---8--4/8---8----------------------------------------| D|---------------------------------------------------------------------------| A|---------------------------------------------------------------------------| E|---------------------------------------------------------------------------| Outro: just play this once: e--------------000----------------------------------------------------------| B—-------------000----------------------------------------------------------| G-4~-4~-22-222-111-4~-------------------------------------------------------| D-4~-4~-22-222-222-4~-------------------------------------------------------| A-2~-2~-00-000-222-2~-------------------------------------------------------| E--------------000----------------------------------------------------------| It’s a tricky little song with palm muting and stuff at different stages and so you need fiddle around with the riffs to get it right. Have fun playing a great song. Song Order: Intro x4 (pm on first time) verse 1 x8 (pm only on 1st, 3rd 5th and 7th time) Chorus x4 Intro x2 no PM verse 2 x8 (pm only on 1st, 3rd 5th and 7th time) chorus x4 Interlude x2 chorus x4 (no lyrics) verse 1 x8 (pm only on 1st, 3rd 5th and 7th time) Chorus x4 chorus x4 (no lyrics) Outro Lyrics Verse 1: Every night I dream the same dream Of getting older all the time I ask you now, what does this mean? Are these problems just in my mind? Things are easy when you're a child But now these pressures have dropped on my head The length I've gone are just long miles Would they be shorter if I were dead Chorus: Every time I look in my past I always wish I was there I wish my youth would forever last Why are these times so unfair Verse 2: Look at my friends and see what they've done Ask myself why they had to change I like them better when they were young Now all these times are rearranged I look down and stand there and cry Nothing ever will be the same The sun is rising, now I ask why? The clouds now fall and here comes the rain ============================================================================================== |
